Family Support
Our Family Liaisons can support you directly or connect you to trusted community partners to make sure you have access to resources and opportunities that help you thrive.
What we do
Family Liaisons work alongside families to connect them with resources, services, and opportunities that support their goals and well-being. They help families navigate systems, reduce barriers, and access the support they need. Through relationship-building, education, and community engagement, Family Liaisons strengthen knowledge, confidence, and self-sufficiency, leading to stronger connections and long-term positive outcomes for families and the community.

We believe families play a vital role in helping young people succeed both in and out of the classroom. Through strong partnerships with schools, caregivers, and community partners, we support families in understanding their child’s academic progress, attendance, and wellbeing.
-
Our Parent Cafe brings caregivers together for discussion, sharing, and support. They offer an opportunity for them to learn together and share their own experiences. Participating can build social connections and also contributes to parental leadership skills. Caregivers with school aged kids are welcome to join.
Parent Cafes are held monthly in collaboration with Promise Partnership Utah. Topics vary based on input from participants and current community needs.

Get personalized support in finding and securing resources. Whether you need help accessing basic needs or have more complex issues to work through, our team is a great first point of contact to help you directly or point you in the right direction.
-
We host a variety of family events throughout the year. These events are a great way to get to know other families in our community, see what your youth has been working on in school and afterschool, do fun activities as a family, get to know staff, learn about resources, check on your youth’s progress and more! We hope you’ll join us as much as you can.
Ways to support your youth
When families are involved, strong communities are built. Your youth look up to you and thrive when you show you value their future. You are their first and most important teacher. Help our community reach our goal of 100% high school graduation with a path to a successful future by following the tips below.
-
Ask about school, friends, and how they’re feeling.
“What was the best part of your day?”
“Anything challenging today?”
Set aside 5–10 minutes of uninterrupted time to connect.
-
Showing up every day builds success.
“What’s on your schedule tomorrow?”
Create a simple morning routine together.
-
Recognize effort—big or small.
“What are you proud of this week?”
Celebrate effort, not just grades.
-
Stay connected with school and community resources.
Sign up for and review newsletters and flyers.
Reach out to a teacher or counselor at least quarterly.
Attend parent teacher conferences.
-
Talk about life after high school.
“What’s something you’d like to try or learn more about?”
“What kind of job or life do you see for yourself?”
Help them explore interests (clubs, programs, jobs, hobbies).
Share your own journey—including changes or challenges along the way.
-
Help them manage stress and emotions.
“How are you feeling lately?”
“What helps you feel better when things are tough?”
Encourage breaks, rest, and balance.
Reach out for additional support when needed (school staff, programs, etc.).
-
Attend events, meetings, and celebrations when you can.
“Do you have anything coming up at school I can support or attend?”
“When is your next event or activity?”
Volunteer if you can.
